Frequently Asked Questions
Ordering, Design, Pricing, and Turnaround
How do I place an order?
Simply contact us through our website, Facebook, Instagram, or email. Tell us what you would like engraved, and we will guide you through the process from design to pickup or shipping.
Do I receive a proof before engraving?
For most custom projects, yes. We will send a digital proof for your approval before engraving begins.
Can changes be made after I approve the proof?
Once a proof has been approved and engraving has started, changes usually cannot be made. Please carefully review all names, dates, spelling, and design details before approving your proof.
Do you create custom designs?
Yes! Whether you have a complete idea or just a general concept, we can work with you to create a custom design that fits your vision.
Can you help if I do not know exactly what I want?
Absolutely. Many customers come to us with only an idea. We can help guide you through fonts, layouts, design options, and personalization choices.
How much does laser engraving cost?
Pricing depends on the item, design complexity, engraving area, and quantity. Contact us for a personalized quote.
How long does an order take?
Turnaround time varies depending on the size of the order, the materials needed, and our current workload. We will discuss the estimated turnaround time with you before beginning your order.
Do you offer rush orders?
When our schedule allows, yes. Rush services may include an additional fee.
Can you engrave while I wait?
Some simple projects may be completed while you wait if scheduled in advance. Most orders are completed through our normal production schedule.
Location, Pickup, Shipping, and Supplied Items
Where are you located?
Etched by Grace is based in Kingwood, Texas, and operates from a private residence. We do not have a retail storefront or shop.
Do you offer local pickup?
Yes! Most of our orders are completed through local pickup in Kingwood.
Can you ship orders?
Yes! We can ship many engraved products within the United States. Shipping costs vary depending on the size and type of order.
Who supplies the materials or items?
We are flexible. You may purchase the items or materials and drop them off in our designated drop-off box. You may also order items online and have them shipped directly to us. For many projects, we can supply the items or materials as well.
Can I bring my own item for engraving?
Yes! We can engrave many customer-supplied items as long as they are compatible with laser engraving. We will evaluate the material or coating first because some items cannot be engraved safely or may not produce consistent results.
We will be especially thorough and cautious before engraving anything that has sentimental value or cannot be easily replaced.
What happens if I supply my own item?
We will inspect the item before engraving and use great care throughout the process. However, customer-supplied items are engraved at the owner’s risk because materials and coatings can react differently to the laser.

What file types do you accept for logos?
Vector files such as SVG or PDF are ideal. We can also work with high-resolution PNG or JPEG images in many cases.

Can you engrave photos?
Many photos can be laser engraved, depending on the material and image quality. High-resolution photos with good contrast typically produce the best results.
Tumblers and Glassware
Can insulated tumblers still be used after engraving?
Yes. Laser engraving removes or alters only the exterior coating and does not affect the insulation or performance of the tumbler.
Can you engrave colored tumblers?
Yes! Laser engraving removes the exterior powder coating to reveal the stainless steel underneath, creating a clean and permanent design.
Do you engrave glass?
Yes. We engrave wine glasses, whiskey glasses, beer mugs, champagne flutes, and many other glass items.

We also frequently create personalized items for businesses, clients, churches, teachers, first responders, military personnel, nurses, and other special groups.
Engraving Quality and Durability
Is laser engraving permanent?
Yes. Unlike vinyl or decals, laser engraving permanently marks the surface by removing or altering the material. It will not peel or wash off.
Will the engraving fade over time?
Properly engraved items are permanent. Some exterior finishes may naturally wear over many years of heavy use, but the engraving itself does not fade like printed graphics.
What is the difference between engraving and vinyl?
Laser engraving permanently marks the material itself. Vinyl is applied to the surface and can eventually peel, crack, lift, or wear away.
Why choose laser engraving over printing?
Laser engraving creates a premium, permanent finish that will not peel or crack like many surface-applied designs. It provides a professional, high-end appearance that is made to last.
